CDL Class A
Labor Finders of Austell is looking for an experienced CDL Class A truck driver. The ideal candidate will operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods over long distances. Responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, adhering to strict safety regulations, maintaining accurate driving logs, communicating with dispatchers, and ensuring timely deliveries along designated routes. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required to legally operate these heavy vehicles.
Key responsibilities of a CDL Class A truck driver:
- Safe driving: Operate a tractor-trailer combination safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections: Before and after each trip, conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, tire pressure, lights, and fluid levels.
- Loading and unloading cargo: Securely load and unload cargo using proper techniques, verifying the accuracy of shipments.
- Route planning and navigation: Follow designated routes, utilizing maps and GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries.
- Logbook maintenance: Maintain accurate driving logs as per DOT regulations, recording hours of service and mileage.
- Vehicle maintenance: Report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
Required skills and qualifications for a CDL Class A driver:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Strong driving skills and ability to handle large vehicles
- Excellent time management and route planning abilities
- Good communication skills to interact with dispatchers and customers
- Attention to detail for accurate paperwork and inspections
