Position Summary

The Racker is responsible for preparing aircraft parts and components for processing by properly securing, positioning, and handling parts on racks, bars, or hoists. This role ensures efficient processing flow, compliance with quality standards, and adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine job priorities and prepare parts for processing according to production schedules and work orders.
  • Select the appropriate racking method and procedures based on the size, shape, weight, and quantity of parts to be processed.
  • Securely wire, clip, or mount parts to racks, bars, or hoists for processing operations.
  • Remove processed parts from racks or bars carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Complete work orders, processing documentation, and required paperwork accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is properly worn and safety procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing excess wire, trash, and unnecessary materials.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Inspect racks, fixtures, and materials for safe and proper operation prior to use.
  • Assist with maintaining workflow efficiency and meeting production deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, and safety procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production processes.
  • Ability to safely handle parts, racks, wires, and processing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in aerospace processing, plating, coating, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of PPE requirements and industrial safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing and processing environment.
  • Exposure to chemicals, industrial equipment, and production materials while using required PPE.
  • Requires standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive movement throughout the shift.
