Labor Finders is looking for a qualified Planer Operator to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications in the Bainbridge area. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products.
A Planer Operator is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities
- Translating blueprints into computer commands to program the machines to perform tasks like milling, drilling, and grinding
- Operating: Running the machines and ensuring they are operating correctly
- Maintaining: Performing maintenance on the machines and replacing parts as needed
- Quality control: Inspecting finished products for precision and ensuring quality standards are met
- Troubleshooting: Addressing machine issues as they arise
- Safety: Adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Documentation: Completing production and quality logs
- Communication: Documenting and communicating actions to maintain continuity among work shifts
- Must have CNC machine experience
- Education: Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Planner operator and grade lumber experience
- Planer operators ensure the finished product is the correct size and quality. They use measuring instruments like calipers, gauges, and micrometers to check that workpieces conform to specifications.
- Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product. Applying sealant, varnish, and paint to cabinets, if required.
- Proven experience as carpenter, planer operator and CNC machine experience
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
- Good understanding of basic math
- Not afraid of heights
