Position Summary

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of aircraft parts, materials, and shipments to customers, vendors, and company locations. This role ensures accurate transportation documentation, compliance with DOT regulations, and support of shipping and receiving operations during non-delivery periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver parts, materials, and shipments to designated locations using established routes and schedules.
• Follow assigned delivery routes and maintain delivery timelines to ensure efficient customer service.
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and safely operate delivery vehicles in accordance with company procedures and DOT regulations.
• Verify shipment accuracy and obtain required signatures for delivery and receipt documentation.
• Complete delivery logs, inspection reports, shipment counts, and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and address service-related concerns or complaints appropriately.
• Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist the shipping and receiving department during delivery downtime, including checking in parts, organizing shipments, and performing basic computer and administrative tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and shipping areas.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and comply with DOT requirements.
• Previous delivery, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or transportation experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete shipping and delivery documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials and packages as required.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety practices.
• Experience operating delivery vans, box trucks, or commercial vehicles.
• Forklift certification or material handling experience is a plus.

Work Environment

• Combination of driving, warehouse, and shipping/receiving environment.
• Requires lifting, loading, unloading, and extended periods of driving.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries.
