In-Training Service Manager

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join their growing service business in Lake City, FL. This is a structured 12–18 month training program designed to transition the right candidate into the role of Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Highly organized with strong planning skills

  • Capable of managing daily service operations in a fast-paced environment


Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work closely with both customers and service technicians. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers with maintenance and service needs

  • Provide technical phone support to customers and field technicians

  • Monitor generator fleet daily to assess service and maintenance requirements

  • Schedule, prioritize, and route maintenance and service calls

  • Communicate daily with customers regarding service timelines and updates

  • Maintain a clean and organized parts storeroom

  • Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies

  • Ensure service activities are billed correctly and warranty claims are submitted promptly

  • Analyze efficiency and profitability of service operations; recommend improvements

  • Coach and assist in training maintenance and service technicians

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and records

  • Oversee maintenance of company vehicles


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license (Required)

  • Work authorization in the U.S. (Required)

  • Reside within 30 miles of Lake City, FL (Required)

  • Strong communication skills with a customer-first approach

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365; familiarity with Field Edge or Service Fusion software is a plus

  • Previous experience in service management, scheduling, or technical customer support

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn generator troubleshooting and repair

  • Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus

  • Ability to manage high call volumes during hurricane season

  • Willingness to obtain and maintain certifications (experience with Generac, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, or Cummins generators is a plus)
