Millwright Maintenance Technician
Installation and Assembly: Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance checks and repairs on various mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid costly downtimes, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, participating in safety audits and maintaining a clean and safe work area
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs, and assist in inventory management of spare parts and tools
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Completion of an apprenticeship in millwrighting or a related field is preferred
Experience: Previous experience in a maintenance role, particularly as a millwright, is highly advantageous. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is also beneficial
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics, and the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary for collaborating with other maintenance staff and departments
