CDL Driver - Class A

Labor Finders of LaGrange is looking for an experienced CDL Class A truck driver. The ideal candidate will operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods over a short and long distance. Responsibilities include performing pre-trip vehicle inspections, adhering to strict safety regulations, maintaining accurate driving logs, communicating with dispatchers. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required to legally operate these heavy vehicles. Will drive 20 % of the time and 80% helping crew members.

Key responsibilities of a CDL Class A truck driver:

• Safe driving: Operate a tractor-trailer combination safely and responsibly, adhering to all          traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections: Before and after each trip, conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, tire pressure, lights, and fluid levels.
• Loading and uploading cargo: Securely load unload cargo using proper techniques, verifying the accuracy of shipments.
• Route planning and navigation: Follow designated routes, utilizing maps and GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries.
• Logbook maintenance: Maintain accurate driving logs as per DOT regulations, recording hours of service and mileage.
• Vehicle maintenance: Report any mechanical issues to the appropriated personnel and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.

Required skills and qualifications for a CDL Class A diver:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Strong driving skills and ability to handle large vehicles
• Excellent time management and route planning abilities
• Good communication skills to interact with dispatchers and customers
• Attention to detail for accurate paperwork and inspections
• Ability to work independently and remain focused during short and long hauls
• Physical stamina to handle extended periods of driving and lifting cargo
