Sanitation Lead
Summary:
The Sanitation Lead has mastered all the techniques and knowledge as a Sanitation Lead and Sanitation Workers. Ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized according to regulatory standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensures delivery of safe food processing and promotes a clean, healthy and safe environment at the client's site. Additionally, the Sanitation Lead will support the manager in training other employees.
*This is a physically demanding role in an environment that is wet and cold and may undergo temperature changes, from hot to cold; wearing multiple layers of clothing is suggested*
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a full understanding of all cleaning, sanitation and safety procedures while utilizing appropriate safety equipment all times.
- Performs all daily cleaning and sanitation activities within the food processing plant on third shift by washing and sanitizing all types of equipment, parts, barrels, baskets, lugs and entire area in a timely manner.
- Properly breaks down, cleans and reassembles all machines.
- Dispose of bulk waste food products.
- Leads by example and helps train sanitation workers to effectively and efficiently perform assigned tasks to help improve their knowledge and results.
- Integral part of the team, exhibiting reliability and consistency.
- Maintains elevated level of knowledge of all cleaning procedures, USDA standards and chemicals being used.
- Assist in moving heavy equipment and food products that could weigh 50lbs or more.
- Reports any Food Safety or Sanitation concerns observed to management.
- Detailed oriented, paying close attention to minute particles throughout the facility is critical to the cleaning process.
- Each morning, at the end of the shift, follows the customer Quality Assurance Personnel who performs a "White Glove" Pre-Op Inspection to meet demanding Food Safety requirements. Re-cleaning may be required if results are not sufficient.
- Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Consistently performs safe chemical dispensing procedures.
- Wears appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times while cleaning with chemicals.
- Performs all tasks safely and is a manner that will not create or pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of the sanitation workers or any other team member.
