Job Summary
We are hiring a CNC Programmer / Operator with strong AutoCAD drafting and woodworking manufacturing experience. This position plays a critical role in converting customer and contract drawings into accurate shop drawings, CNC programs, and production-ready documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with Sales, Production, and Quality Control to ensure precision, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Create and revise shop drawings using AutoCAD for manufacturing and production
  • Program and support CNC machine operations for woodworking projects
  • Prepare, modify, and maintain catalog, assembly, and shop drawings for existing and new products
  • Interpret technical sketches, customer specifications, and contract drawings
  • Ensure drawings align with customer requirements, production schedules, and quality standards
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Production, and Quality Control teams
  • Maintain organized digital libraries, cloud servers, engineering databases, and hard-copy files
  • Produce special drawings for custom orders, plant projects, and sales support
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • CAD1 certification required (CAD2 strongly preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
  • Proven experience in woodworking or millwork manufacturing
  • Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical and shop drawings
  • Experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Basic mathematical skills related to manufacturing and tolerances
  • Ability to independently complete projects from concept to production

Training & Development
  • Required attendance at a Holz‑Her CNC software training class, fully paid by employer.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing and production setting
  • Combination of computer-based drafting and shop-floor collaboration
