Key Duties
- Reading and interpreting plans: Reviewing blueprints, sketches, and plans to understand project specifications.
- Measuring and cutting: Precisely measuring and cutting wood and other materials to the correct size and shape.
- Assembling structures: Building and installing structures like walls, floors, and roofs.
- Installing fixtures: Fitting and installing components such as doors, windows, cabinets, and trim.
- Repair and maintenance: Repairing damaged wooden structures and fixtures.
- Finishing: Performing finishing tasks like sanding and applying finishes to surfaces.
- Tool and equipment use: Operating a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, hammers, and levels
Skills:
- Manual dexterity and physical strength: Ability to work with hands and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Problem-solving: Ability to quickly solve design or structural issues that arise on a project.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring precision in measurements and cuts for a high-quality finish.
- Math and spatial reasoning: Strong skills in calculating measurements and understanding spatial relationships.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills to collaborate with clients and other tradespeople
MUST have clean background check and the ability to access Fort Benning GA Military base.
