Duties and responsibilities that a refrigeration mechanic is expected to perform include the following:
- Install refrigeration systems and components
- Conduct routine inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Repair or replace defective parts
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Test system operations
- Recharge refrigerant systems
- Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
- Follow safety protocols
- Communicate with customers
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Inspect and test system components
- Install and configure electronic control systems
- Upgrade existing systems
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies
- Provide training and guidance
- Perform emergency repairs
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers
- Stay updated on new technologies
- Offer energy-saving recommendations
- Install and maintain industrial refrigeration systems
- Conduct performance tests
- Perform retrofitting on older systems
- Coordinate with other tradespeople.
Refrigeration Mechanic Skills:
